Six Months

Six months ago today I walked down the beach holding Eric's hand, not knowing that we were walking towards our best friends waiting for us in the distance. Six months ago today I cried (a lot), and laughed (a lot). Six months ago today John started reading a fake recipe list when he was supposed to be reading his speech, yelled "whoops wrong list!", then started crying before he could even read his real speech. Six months ago today Greg handed me a pack of tissues when I got to the "Year 6" station, because he knew I was going to need them before walking to my final station. Six months ago today Eric asked me to marry him. Six months ago today I said yes to spending the rest of my life with this man.

So much has happened in the past 1/2 year that has changed life for Eric and I- some that we had no control over and some that we did. In the past six months, I lost both of my Nonna's within weeks of each other, Eric and I were both offered new jobs and started over completely at a new company and school, and we had to say goodbye to my very first car I've had since my 17th birthday because she finally waved her white flag. In the past six months, so much of life changed and nothing felt the same. After feeling like we reached the lowest lows and climbed to the highest highs, life is finally beginning to balance out. As everything begins to settle, we're finally able to focus on the wedding planning again. I am over the moon happy to finally be able to truly answer when people excitedly ask "how is wedding planning going?!" instead of putting on my best smile and yelling in my head, "I don't know what is up and what is down lately!" It's been so fun to go back to spending our weekends looking at wedding weekend hotels, trying on dresses and tuxedos, and truly getting to soak up ALL of this engagement bliss we'd taken a hiatus from. And having this all happen as bright lights are starting to be hung, holiday music is playing, and the smell of pine needles fills the air?! Well, there's a reason they call it the most wonderful time of the year :)

To celebrate our six months engaged, we're sharing with all of you some of our engagement pictures we took a few weeks ago in Sheep Meadow in Central Park. Sheep Meadow is a spot I've always loved and adored, so it wasn't really a question when it came time to choosing a spot to take our engagement pictures. We want to credit all of the wonderful people who helped make it possible, and hope you enjoy all of the pictures :)
